Scariest thing
I just say
Pop star Sabrina Carpenter told critics “don’t come” after social media criticized her outfits on her Short N’ Sweet tour. “To that I just say, don’t come to the show, and that’s OK,” she said bluntly.
Went viral
Carpenter was seen wearing a Swarvoski crystal-studded two-piece dress that went viral on social media. The wardrobe is reportedly styled and picked by Jared Ellner.
Scariest thing
“It’s unfortunate that it’s ever been something to criticize, because truthfully, the scariest thing in the world is getting up on a stage in front of that many people and having to perform as if it’s nothing,” she said. “If the one thing that helps you do that is the way you feel comfortable dressing, then that’s what you’ve got to do.”
Struggling artist
Carpenter recalled when she had fewer options as a struggling artist on previous tours. “In the past it would be like, if that outfit has stains on it, good luck,” Carpenter recalled.
Corsets and garter belts
“If right now that means corsets and garter belts and fuzzy robes or whatever the [expletive], then that’s what that means,” she concluded.
Gained recognition
Carpenter initially gained recognition on the Disney Channel series “Girl Meets World” (2014–2017) and signed with Hollywood Records. Her debut single, “Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying,” was released in 2014 followed by four studio albums.
Numerous films
Carpenter has also appeared in numerous films including “Clouds” (2020) and “Emergency” (2022). She also starred in Netflix productions “Tall Girl” and “Work It.”
