Remote broadcasts

Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently expressed his disapproval of The CW’s consideration to conduct remote broadcasts of Xfinity Series races from NASCAR’s production facility, as verified by HollywoodUnlocked.com. Many others echoed Earnhardt’s sentiments, citing negative experiences with remote broadcasts in other sports, like MLB.

Earnhardt Jr., who is the son of 7-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Dale Earnhardt, retired from full-time competition in 2017. He has raced part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and now offers commentator for NASCAR on NBC, Amazon, and TNT.

I hope they do not
“I hope they do not,” Earnhardt posted, to which NASCAR driver Garrett Smithley commented, “Same.”
Cost savings alone
“I remember when all MLB teams started doing the remote broadcasts in 2020,” one MLB fan posted online. “By the 2023 season, 28 of the 30 teams in MLB returned to doing all broadcasts on the site. If remote broadcasts worked they would have continued doing them for the cost savings alone. It didn’t work.”
TNT and Amazon Prime
Earnhardt won’t participate in the potential broadcasts due to his new role with TNT and Amazon Prime.
Truck races
“It’ll be like the truck races,” another fan wrote.
People babbling
“Couple people babbling about the race they’re watching on the tv. No connection to the actual race, and we can tell the difference. It sucks,” the fan added.
Earnhardt won’t participate in the potential broadcasts due to his new role with TNT and Amazon Prime.
Xfinity Series
Earnhardt has remained invested in the Xfinity Series, however, through his JR Motorsports team.
Upcoming race
Fans can watch the upcoming race at the Charlotte Roval this weekend on The CW.
